Stiky Fingers

Stiky Fingers Ad. May 11, 1971. The Trinity Tripod, Hartford, CT.

In 1971, Stiky Fingers opened in Hartford, CT.

A home for nearby University of Hartford students and local residents looking to tune in and drop out, Stiky Fingers became the place where the counter-culture would come to find underground comix, custom leather sandals, waterbeds, offsite concert tickets and all sorts of smoking paraphernalia. It became the template for head shops in the 70s.

A second location opened later that year in New Haven, serving the students and residents of Yale University and Connecticut College. Thriving for years during the heady hippie days of the early 70s, Stiky Fingers closed later that decade.

This site is the beginning of a digital archive of Stiky Fingers.
